[arch-dev-public] Imagemagick rebuild in [testing]

Hi, I just uploaded an imagemagick package in testing that will require a rebuilt of the apps that links to its libs because the libraries names have changed. From imagemagick ChangeLog: * New Unix/Linux refactoring (should be transparent since changes are reflected in Magick-config and ImageMagick.pc pkg-config files): /usr/local/include => /usr/local/include/ImageMagick libMagick => libMagickCore libWand => libMagickWand Magick-config (deprecated) => MagickCore-config Wand-config (deprecated) => MagickWand-config Add Magick++-config, MagickCore.pc, MagickWand.pc, Magick++.pc The package that needs to be rebuilt are: dvdauthor inkscape koffice labplot libavg libfprint psiconv (already done) pstoedit transcode vips vips-devel xine-lib To get the list above, I've installed all packages that had imagemagick as a (make)depends then ran lddd to see which ones needed to be rebuilt. It might be worth it to to that for future rebuilds. If someone with mysql access would do a todo list for the above, I'll appreciate. New and improved ssh I haven't been able to find a comprehensive upstream change log (busy with devtools/dbscripts changes), but I know this has some large security fixes, and also contains the new-fangled chroot ability. That's right, sshd should not have the ability to chroot users built in. I know I'm excited. Should be in testing for both arches

This is a problem in our current version of initscripts: If a package is added in staging, but the PKGBUILD shows an older version, the package and database data become inconsistent: $ cat /var/lib/pacman/sync/extra/graphviz-2.16.1-3/desc %FILENAME% graphviz-2.18-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz %NAME% graphviz %VERSION% 2.16.1-3 %DESC% Creates acircular graph images %CSIZE% 1304315 %MD5SUM% 47e014aa4dc7f3976db49ede4621af97 %FORCE% This causes problems during the upgrade. Please be more careful until our dbscripts have more checks included and never forget to add the PKGBUILD properly.

[arch-dev-public] Rsync-based ABS

Hey guys, So I think ABS is ready to move to rsync. The final piece, server-side ABS-tree generation, has been completed with help from Jason. I've just committed the svn2abs script to git - take a look at it to get the full details, but in short it does a checkout of the svn repo (or updates a pre-existing checkout), extracts the repo information into the expected format for an ABS tree and stores this in a tmp dir, then rsyncs /srv/abs to the tmp dir to update it. I've tested this a bit on gerolde, and ironed out a few of my initial bugs - the ABS tree currently sitting in /srv/abs was generated using that script. I've made packages (and src PKGBUILD) available at http://dev.archlinux.org/~travis/pkg/ if anyone wants to muck around. The [abs] rsync stanza is currently only set to allow my IP address, so you won't yet be able to sync with the new abs unless you get your IP added (or remove the restriction altogether). svn2abs is designed to be run as a cron-job, maybe once/twice a day or something along those lines to keep /srv/abs relatively fresh. I'm pretty confident in the state of ABS now, so I'm wondering how we'll go about integrating this onto Gerolde, then pushing it out to the users. Things we'll need to do to get this integrated and pushed out: 1) install abs-2.0 on gerolde 2) modify rsync stanza for [abs] in /etc/rsyncd.conf to allow anyone 3) add cronjob for svn2abs 4) push to users I'll need an enabler to handle 1-3, and once it's setup I can take it from there. Anyway, muck around, have fun, see if I missed anything. -- Travis

[arch-dev-public] Problem with x86_64 repo and db

Hi, There some problem with the extra x86_64 repo. Acording to the db, the bzr and graphviz packages are at versions: bzr-1.3-1.1 and graphviz-2.16.1-3. But the versions of the packages on the server and which get installed are: bzr-1.3-1 and graphviz-2.18-2 Can someone with more experience with svn or the db fix that? I can file a bug report if needed.
