Version 0.9.16 of devtools made "mkarchroot -u" able to handle pacman upgrades using: pacman -Syu --noconfirm; pacman -Qqu >/dev/null && pacman -Su --noconfirm This implies the return code of "mkarchroot -u" is always 1 in the most typical case where there is no package left to upgrade after the first round. To fix this, I suggest to simply remove the check for packages left: pacman -Su will do it just as well. Hi, Anyone want to spend some time cleaning up the syslog-ng package? Technically Aaron is the maintainer, but I have been updating it for the last few releases given he does not do much packaging lately. There are a few bugs open for it at the moment that I could blindly fix, but it would be better if someone more familiar with the package took a stab at it. Allan

The udev database has changed, After installation of a new udev version, 'udevadm info --convert-db' should be called, to let the new udev/libudev version read the already stored data. udevadm now supports quoting of property values, and prefixing of key names: $ udevadm info --export --export-prefix=MY_ --query=property -n sda MY_MAJOR='259' MY_MINOR='0' MY_DEVNAME='/dev/sda' MY_DEVTYPE='disk' ... libudev now supports: udev_device_get_is_initialized() udev_enumerate_add_match_is_initialized() to be able to skip devices the kernel has created , but udev has not already handled. libudev now supports: udev_device_get_usec_since_initialized() to retrieve the "age" of a udev device record. GUdev supports a more generic GUdevEnumerator class, udev TAG handling, device initialization and timestamp now. Hi guys During the recent community package addition sprint I noticed someone mentioning rar [1], so I looked into any possible reason why it was never brought into the repositories (not that I personally have any need for it). I found none. Ubuntu appears to have had it in multiverse for some time already, and a quick mail to RARLAB resulted in a reply from Eugene Roshal stating that it's OK to redistribute if no files are modified. I have never figured out how the trial thing works for this Linux command-line version. It looks like a fully usable program to me that will last for an indefinite period. Is there any objection to this? The only reason I'd be adding it to extra is that it has 600 votes. Else, it can go to community. [1] http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=20760

Number registers `lsn' and `lss' hold the number of removed leading spaces and the corresponding horizontal space, respectively. o There is a new warning category `file', enabled by default. The `mso' request emits warnings in this category when the requested macro file does not exist. o The new `class' request assigns a short name to a set of characters which can be referred to in the `cflags' request. This is especially useful to control line-breaking and hyphenation rules in CJK languages. o Three new values for the `cflags' request have been added, which are needed for proper CJK support. 128 prohibit before but allow break after character 256 prohibit after but allow break before character 512 allow break before and after character Tbl --- o A new global option `nowarn' suppresses warnings if tables are longer than the current line width. Afmtodit -------- o New option `-o' to specify the name of the output file.
