Are you sure the ABI/soname actually changes? That would be quite a mess.
Definitely an soname change: libjpeg.so.62.0.0 to libjpeg.so.7.0.0.  The
62 to 7 change is deliberate...  Not surprising given that last release
was in March 1998.
