Hey,
After only a few days, this proposal has generated quite some attractions with a majority of positive feedback, both from users and staff! [...]
Hi everyone,
Microsoft confirmed me their interest in including an official Arch Linux WSL image in their distribution manifest and also agreed on a frequency of one pull request per month to keep it updated [1] (which matches the release frequency of our ISO).
With the above and the overall positive feedback I got so far, I think we are *technically* ready to proceed. [...]
As suggested by one of our staff member, I wrote an RFC about this topic for good measure [1] (which I'll announce officially in a separate thread right after this). While this overall topic has already been discussed and mostly hashed out in this mailing list thread, having details and specifications written in a "formal" RFC is good for record keeping on the decision. This ML thread is linked in the RFC so every thoughts exposed there should be accessible from it. Regardless, feel free to expose some more in the RFC's comment section if needed :D As said earlier, since this topic and related specifications have been discussed and mostly hashed out in this mailing list thread already, I expect for both this RFC to enter the final period comment and for the related effort to start soon :) [1] https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/rfcs/-/merge_requests/50 -- Regards, Robin Candau / Antiz
