Didn't you say that this issue was not worth bisecting? In that case, it is not worth blocking a kernel move.
I didn't say its a blocker, I just said I would put a note into the news item to inform people. This chipset is virtually not supported for a long time now and I don't believe that spending a day to locate the bug by myself would change that.
