[arch-dev-public] KDE-4.1.4 will be skipped
Hi all, even though the 4.1.4 packages are sitting in the staging dir for some days now, I decided to cancel that update. There is no much difference between 4.1.3 and 4.1.4, but there are new problems like this one: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179921 In addition to this there are problems with kdebindings and it would have been replaced by 4.2.0 after two weeks anyway. So, we will go straight to 4.2 then. I am just preparing the packages of the RC1 which will go to [extra] soon. Note: The [kde-unstable] repo will disappear then. Just remove it from your pacman.conf and get the RC1 from testing. -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de
Hi Pierre and Thomas, there is a new exiv2 available, and kde is depending on it in several ways. Once 4.1.3 is out of testing I want exiv2 in there, so 4.2 can be build against it. This is just a mental note so that we don't forget about it. -T On Sun, 11 Jan 2009, Pierre Schmitz wrote:

4.1.3 is still in extra. If you want 4.2 build with new exiv2 I would recommond to commit it to testing now. Release of KDE 4.2 is scheduled for next week. Afaik only kdegraphics and strigi will be affected. So, just ping me when you want to put it into testing and I'll rebuild those. -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de
