[arch-dev-public] Upcoming archboot release and archboot iso/img files
Hi all, after changing a lot of stuff in old archboot, a new release will come up next days. I already created an USB image and an ISO file. I would like to share those files with the community. They ship both architectures core repositories, though the size increased to approx. 445 MB. Included is a slightly modified setup, that fits better than the standard setup for archboot usage. I don't know if any plans for a new archiso is on the way and also i don't know how official you guys want to call them. Can i share them in /iso/2008.10 on ftp setver? Should the name change of the files? Archlinux-allinone-2008.10.iso/img is it now. You are also welcome to test those files ;) http://dev.archlinux.org/~tpowa/2008.10/ Thanks for your input on this. greetings tpowa -- Tobias Powalowski Archlinux Developer & Package Maintainer (tpowa) http://www.archlinux.org tpowa@archlinux.org

Well, is there anybody working on this? I thought there would be a new iso in August.

I would rename the dir to 2008.10-archboot and the iso to archlinux-2008.10- archboot.iso.
Archlinux-allinone-2008.10.iso/img is it now.

Because downloading from gerolde is slow as hell I have mirrored these files: http://downloads.archlinux.de/iso/2008.10-archboot/
Thanks for your input on this.
Sorry, hadden't any time to test those isos. -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de
I would rename the dir to 2008.10-archboot and the iso to archlinux-2008.10- archboot.iso. Good point, ok i could also add a version additional to it like: archlinux-2008.10-1-archboot.iso.

I thought Simo was, but he's apparently way too busy with school. Now that 2.6.27 is out, I will try to get new ISOs pushed out.

I just did a quick test run of the iso (x86_64). It seemed that it had problems partitioning (after deleting a partition and creating it again the data was still present). After that mounting was not going well either. When selecting done after choosing the mount points the question was just repeated. In fact nothing was mounted. When doing above steps manually the rest of the install completed just fine. Tested above two times with the same cd, so it may just be the cd. Ronald

Are you guys fine with iso/2008.10-archboot/archlinux-2008.10- archboot-1.iso#img on main ftp server when this small issue is fixed? thanks greetings tpowa -- Tobias Powalowski Archlinux Developer & Package Maintainer (tpowa) http://www.archlinux.org tpowa@archlinux.org
