[arch-dev-public] 2.6.22-rc4-git3 please test!
Hi just to inform all developers, the new kernel can be downloaded from this adress: http://www.archlinux.org/~tpowa/rc-kernel/ or as repo [kernel] http://www.archlinux.org/~tpowa/rc-kernel/ All developers that have modules and hardware are invited to test the already provided ones. Broken: wlan-ng26 tomkx please try to find a fix ;) I need your feedback on this task, to avoid broken modules in the future. Known to work: fcpci,fcpcmcia,intel-536ep, nvidia-9x and nvidia-71x thanks greetings tpowa -- Tobias Powalowski Archlinux Developer & Package Maintainer (tpowa) http://www.archlinux.org tpowa@archlinux.org

Just a reminder for those who don't know yet: we have http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Driver_Testing page that can be useful. Anyone are free to join the testing squad. -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)

Naked self-interest being the best motivator, I have now found the fix. :) In response to my request, someone posted an ubuntu patch for it on the linux-wlan list, and it works again. Details here: http://www.archlinux.org/~tom/packages/wlan-ng26/ Package here: http://www.archlinux.org/~tom/packages/wlan-ng26-0.2.8-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz T.
Hi thanks for the quick fix, now in repo also wlan-ng26 :) greetings tpowa -- Tobias Powalowski Archlinux Developer & Package Maintainer (tpowa) http://www.archlinux.org tpowa@archlinux.org

Here's a better wlan-ng patch - reinstates Wireless Extensions support, which was missing with the last one. Working fine here with 2.6.22-rc6-ck1. T.

No problems here on my desktop machine, nvidia-96xx working fine, and so are all my in-kernel drivers of note (zd1211rw still working). -Dan
I'd also like to announce that I made PKGBUILDs and i686 packages for the iwlwifi drivers for intel 3945ABG and 4965AGN chipsets. Those are based on mac80211, that means you need a 2.6.22 kernel to run them. The packages are built against tpowa's 2.6.22-rc4. Packages and PKGBUILDs for the modules and the firmware are here: http://www.archlinux.org/~thomas/iwlwifi/ My tests conclude that the iwl3945 driver is not really stable, and you should use the ipw3945 driver if you have such a card (unless you love reboots and unstable connections). I can't test the iwl4965 driver, because I don't have the hardware, but these packages should help anyone who has such a new Intel card.

I've been toying around with ipwraw, which allows packet injection and such, it might be useful to include that too. -S

I think you deleted the sync DB today when doing all your updates, you may want to check that. -Dan

They are. But they are in the kernel26 package so that they are deleted when you update it. In case a module gets updated before the kernel, the files are already there, resulting in this error. This is a common error, any ideas on how to do this better?
