No objections here. If we are to use it on gerolde (doing it would be a good idea) then it makes sense to have it in extra.

I see that you want to have it under "official control" but I'm afraid sooner or later it will join the long list of orphaned packages nobody will care about. Do whatever you think is needed. -Andy

I use this package on both my machines, so I can easily maintain it.

As long as we have a willing maintainer, I think this will be great to have. It is not that frequently updated anyway so should not be a huge burden. -Dan
