None of the package conflict with each other and the bootloader are not setup by default by the post_install scripts, they just provide instructions on how to do so. Grub2 1.99 will be released very soon and a lot of things including the build system have changed between 1.98 and 1.99 . So the old PKGBUILD as well as grub2 install commands in Archboot may need to be rechecked.

First of all, thanks for your work Keshav. Suppose it is time to take this forward now.

Tobias, you mentioned bringing grub2-efi into extra not so long ago. Although I like the work Keshav did on this one, I don't think it is our best option to put efi support into the same PKGBUILD. First of all this causes the need for building packages for both architectures on 64bit if I read the PKGBUILD correctly. Secondly this introduced the use of multilib packages, which is not really something we want in the future if grub2 ever turns stable and moves to core.

I suppose we can use Keshav's PKGBUILD and split it into two, one for plain grub2, and one that adds efi support? (is that correct Keshav?)

regards, ronald We need it in one PKGBUILD without multilib, i'll ask the dev list how to do it in an elegant way. We still have no hurry on this the work already done is a great work we need to fine tune it.
