[arch-dev-public] glibc-2.15 toolchain in [testing]
I have uploaded the glibc-2.15 toolchain into [testing]. Changes: glibc-2.15-1: - upstream update - remove no longer needed patches linux-api-headers-3.1.6-1: - upstream patch level bump binutils-2.22-3: - new upstream snapshot - rework PKGBUILD so "makepkg -R" works gcc-4.6.2-5: - new upstream snapshot - remove patch included upstream - update to libstdc++ man pages valgrind-3.7.0-2: - glibc rebuild I am not sure if this will be the final glibc build... I notice gdb prints a stupid, but harmless, error message but need to investigate whether this is a glibc or gdb bug. Allan

glibc 2.15-1 breaks nvidia-utils. All applications using opengl crash in libGL.so.290.10. I can always replicate using gnome-shell. Can somebody on x86_64 can replicate this issue?

No breakage here on x86_64. Tested: glxinfo glxgears mplayer (not the build from extra) All run just fine. d

Not running nvidia-utils, but I have a different problem: since the upgrade evolution will consistently hangup gnome-shell on xf86-video-intel. Tried downgrading kernel to several versions, but the problem went away after downgrading glibc/gcc-libs.

I can not replicate so if someone could post some useful information to that bug report it would be helpful...

Both the hanging issue and the nvidia issue should be fixed in glibc-2.15-2 in the [testing] repo now. Allan

A note for packagers: If you build a package using glibc from testing it wont work with the one in core. Also svn wont work after you update glibc: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/27743 -- Pierre Schmitz, http://pierre-schmitz.com

I have the commit isolated that causes this issue but it is not an easy bug to figure out because it is a large change... 26 files changed, 495 insertions(+), 134 deletions(-) and it is not easy to directly revert given some stuff has occurred on top of these changes. Hopefully I will have at least a hack fix today. Allan

Crashing svn/apache should be fixed in glibc-2.15-3 Allan
