[arch-dev-public] [signoff] kernel26-2.6.24.1-2
Hi kernel bump to .24 series first maintenance release for both arches in testing, please signoff FIXES: - root exploit - fixed xfs oopses - fixed some nfs issues Due to the root exploit we should move in the .24 kernel really soon to core. greetings tpowa -- Tobias Powalowski Archlinux Developer & Package Maintainer (tpowa) http://www.archlinux.org tpowa@archlinux.org

I sign-off for i686 and x86_64. I have tested it on three different machines (2*i686 + 1*x86_64). I made sure that the exploit does not work anymore. I will wait for another sign-off and move it to [core] asap. (Tobias is away for some hours) Pierre -- archlinux.de

I can also sign off i686; I haven't confirmed the exploit is fixed, but things seem to be running great with forcedeth ethernet and nvidia graphics. - P

There's some doubt about the fix in kernel-land: http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/2/10/8 -S

This is exact the reason why this kernel was pushed into [core]. Note: it inlcude a pre-24.2 patch that should fix the issue which was not really fixed by 24.1. -- http://www.archlinux.de

I tried the exploit code on our kernel, no exploit appears. Daniel
