[arch-dev-public] Rebuild of core repo will start in few (1-2) hours
Hi, after the PKGBUILD were fixed (big thanks to tpowa and Roman), I will start the rebuild of core repo in 1-2 hours. Packages which are in testing right now from core, wouldn't be affected of the rebuild. They are build with the new toolchain already. Please don't commit anything (no testing stuff, too) to the core repo until I finished and send an email as reply to this one. After finishing with rebuild, I will tag and commit the new PKGBUILDs to the core repo. I will put the packages to testing first. Be patient, because I will do the rebuild for both architectures (i686 and x86_64). If anyone doesn't agree with the rebuild, please send a reply to this email. Daniel

If you want to fix the pacman build so it doesn't pull in doxygen (3.1 will not), you can add --disable-doxygen to the configure flags. No one really uses the libalpm function manpages that I know of anyway... -Dan

And the next release will kill off doxygen as a dep anyway 8)

Could you move glib2 from testing to core aswell? It was signed off already but I haven't had time to move the packages yet. Glib2 is a new package in core, added as makedependency for syslog-ng.

I will do it, after all is finished.

The core rebuild is over. All packages are now in testing. I hope I have rebuilt all packages, maybe I miss some not so important one. Committing to core repo (and testing) are allowed now. Feel free to fix packages if I have missed a package or (hopefully not) break one. I'm going to shutdown my computer, it's a little bit HOT after rebuilding two core repos simultaniously (thx goes to Intel Core2Duo :D ). ;) Daniel

You know that you have to send a "signoff" message for every single package? I am not sure if I could accept any exceptions here. ;-) -- http://www.archlinux.de

signed off, arch-pdp11
works all for me on x86_64. go on and move it all to core! Andy
my mirror is so slow I only pulled the updates a few hours ago. Everything works fine :)
I have a few questions about moving those packages to core. After several signed-offs, I think I can move those packages to core now. Now my questions: 1) Should there be a news post before the move? 2) Should I wait a few days longer before move, maybe some more users test it? Sorry, for those questions, but the packages are nearly our complete core repo. I just want to be careful and don't break our complete system. Daniel

I would like to get specific signoff for gpm before having it moved out of testing. At the same time as the rebuild, it was patched to fix FS#8405. The bug was that it was messing up console app like vim by writing error messages in the opened file. I guess you can signoff in this thread. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

After the big update, I did notice that my mouse's side tilt buttons stopped responding, though everything else with the mouse and the system was fine. The usual suspect, i.e xf86-input-evdev was not updated in this case, so I'm still not sure what part of the update broke this functionality. I'll post back here if I get things working again. Varun
