I also fixed those bugs: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/12857 http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10537 And reverted this one I just introduced triggering a pacman "bug": http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/13599 Let me know if this works for you. I have chekd this with x86_64, Geforce 7800GT and KDE 4.2.1. Can anyone confirm this problem: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=128992 ? You get this problem when upgrading from 180.22 to 180.35-1 and from 180.35-1 to -2. But this shouldn't happen when you update from 180.22 to 180.35-2. -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de

Greetings,
Yes, Geforce 8500GT or so, KDE is completely unusable, shells in yakuake don't exit but hang as "defunct" when I log out, the KDE start takes forever and I get tons of "defunct" processes over time. We cannot put this to extra in this state. Again, nvidia's beta is stabler than their final.

I have no idea why this works for some and for others it does not. I downgraded to 180.29 for now. Please check if that helps. -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de
