[arch-dev-public] Email domain for TUs
Hi, Since all our email now runs via the same system and all users are also on that system do we still need the distinction between TUs and devs in the email domain (archlinux.org vs aur.archlinux.org)? We currently have 25 @aur.archlinux.org (<10 active TUs) and 97 @archlinux.org addresses. I forgot about the distinction already when I created the latest email address and since some people have both roles (TU and dev) and aur.archlinux.org doesn't really fit perfectly anyway (TUs don't only handle the aur but also [community] and that's not even on the same server any more) I'd like to unify this and always create @archlinux.org addresses. Any objections? PS: If anyone didn't want an email address before because of spam reasons we have a spam filter now.

No objections here. Where is the configuration documented btw? I never managed to get this working. I read or was told that all I had to do was create ~/.forward with my target email address on nymeria but my test mails bounced. Regards, Xyne

Email addresses are configured in /etc/postfix/users and only if there is an entry there that forwards to your user you can use the .forward file. I didn't document it anywhere. Was there documentation about the old setup?

I don't remember where I read about the .forward file. Sorry.

There was no documentation. We were told to just have a .forward and were given client configuration details via either IRC or e-mail. My @aur never worked, but when I got access to gerolde the forward worked without intervention. -- GPG/PGP ID: C0711BF1
