Until this gets finally fixed I think we should stay with the old autoconf release in core: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/autoconf/2010-07/msg00004.html

I did post a signoff recall saying this release was broken... That is not the worst issue with this release, although the other one is possibly a pkg-config issue. Allan
