[arch-dev-public] Update flashplugin to 9.0.64.0?
I have been using flashplugin 9.0.64.0 (which is the latest beta for the next flash 9 update) for some time. I didn't have more stability problems than with our current version (rather less) and it has support for fullscreen mode (which is awesome for youtube). I am proposing to update it in testing (or extra) and use that beta instead of the latest stable. Opinions?

If it offers some significant benefit and seems reliable, then I say go with it. If users complain, we can fall back. - P

I say go for it. If it starts crashing my firefox harder, I'll be vocal about it 8)

Could you also adopt libflashsupport and move it to Extra as well? -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)

I have the feeling it actually crashes much less! However, I cannot distinguish if it crashes itself or if nspluginwrapper crashes.

I have no interest in maintaining it. I don't think it has ever been updated since its initial release for flash9 beta, so why not let the package keep sitting in unstable?

http://archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2007-November/003196.html Actually there is an updated version with PulseAudio support and some fixes. I wouldn't say this package belongs to Unstable. It was placed there with first flashplugin betas but it's not unstable, it just adds some missing features, so it's not good for users to take it from Unstable repo. I can maintain it if you or JGC (when PulseAudio will hit Extra) won't. -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)

Hmmm just out of curiosity, did they fix the issue with not closing ALSA devices properly? I don't see any mention of it in their changelog :-/ -S
