[arch-dev-public] draft klibc move news item
Hi all, We need a news item for the klibc move to [core] due to the whole "349 lines of file conflict messages" thing... [draft] klibc upgrade requires user intervention Due to a limitation in how pacman handles conflict checking and symlinks to directories, the upgrade to klibc-1.5.14-1 requires the manual removal of a symlink prior to updating. Please do a "rm /usr/lib/klibc/include/asm" to remove the symlink that causes lots of false file conflicts. [/draft] Sounds fine? Allan
Improved a bit: [draft2] klibc upgrade requires user intervention Due to a limitation in pacman's conflict checking and symbolic link resolution, the upgrade to klibc-1.5.14-1 requires manual removal of a symbolic link befole updating. Please run the command "rm /usr/lib/klibc/include/asm" as root to remove the symbolic link that will otherwise cause a few hundred false file conflicts.
