Could you please do this for splash-related packages? (in case you don't have much free time now) gensplash is needed to be replaced with fbsplash, and initscripts-splash will need updating soon, with new initscripts release pending.

Well, I think gensplash just needs to be removed, and I'll orphan initscripts-splash ASAP.
