[arch-dev-public] perl 5.14.0 rebuild
Hi DEVs TUs, Perl 5.14.0 hits [staging] today, so, a rebuild is needed for compatibility with 5.14.0. A TODO list is created on [1] The changes that I've made on the package are: * perl 5.14.0 * Removed patch for h2ph warning from 5.12.3 * Removed provides array, you can use `corelist -v 5.14.0` to know the modules included with the perl core, through Module::CoreList (thx j3nnn1 for the tip) Let's start the rebuild! This was for the package manager, not so much for users.

Yep, I have a list with the packages that I will be remove (since perl brings them on -even the same version-) perl 5.14.0 brings 600~ modules, which means so much lines on provides array and a long PKGBUILD.. I can do the list either if it's needed (and will be the PKGBUILD more long on the history), but it's good to start the rebuilds since is a long list. By the way, in the rebuild I noticed some really lack of dedication on perl-packages, I'll be pushing a list with those one which should be updated on the PKGBUILD not just a simply pkgrel bump + rebuild. -- Angel Velásquez angvp @ irc.freenode.net Arch Linux Developer / Trusted User Linux Counter: #359909 http://www.angvp.com

Hi DEVs TUs,
Perl 5.14.0 hits [staging] today, so, a rebuild is needed for compatibility with 5.14.0.
A TODO list is created on [1]
I am currently uploading rebuilt packages of the following: claws-mail-extra-plugins dvdrip git glade-perl gnomecanvas-perl gnome-perl gnome-vfs-perl gnumeric irssi libproxy mod_perl net-snmp perl-bit-vector perl-crypt-ssleay perl-dbd-sqlite perl-digest-nilsimsa perl-digest-sha1 perl-event perl-html-parser perl-libintl-perl perl-locale-gettext perl-netaddr-ip perl-net-dns perl-net-ssleay perl-net-upnp perl-template-toolkit perl-term-readkey perl-text-iconv perl-time-hires perl-unicode-string perl-yaml-syck vim weechat The remaining 4 packages in the Todo list don't build cleanly and need some fixing.

Several of them are out of date and changelogs seem to indicate that upgrading them could fix the problems. Rémy.

Great job guys, we rebuilt all the needed stuff on 4 days, I'd like to move this to [testing] on weekend, what do you think?, I'd like to see if something left out the rebuild and prepare a list with the removals of packages on extra and community (duplicated modules, my list now have three or 4 modules .. not so much).
