[arch-events] FrosCon 23.- 24.08.2008
Hi all, it's time to organize things about taking part at the FrosCon this august. First of all everybody who wants to participate and help us should drop a line. This way we'll get a rough idea about how many we are. More information can be found at froscon.de Pierre -- archlinux.de

I'll be there this year. I think i drive by car, so if someone is near Bingen/Rhein (that is near Mainz), i could give a lift. Regards Gerhard -- Ist Ihnen mutt zu kompliziert? Ihr Mailprogramm zu "fett"? Sie moegen keine man pages? Versuchen Sie: rm -rf (ReadMail -Realy Fast)

Klick-Mailer... ;-) No problem to mark and paste the link here with mutt... But Aaron's idea how the overseas arches could reach the old country is also nice ;-) We should maybe organize some dry clothes.. -- Don't drink and root!

I think using KMail 4.1 Beta and Arora-git+qt4.5 could be the source of the problem. Would be nice to see you here. Then you could teach me how to pronounce you last name the right way. :-) Btw: I just contacted the FrosCon-team and ask for a room (probably with a beamer) and maybe a booth. Hi all, finally I got a response from the FrosCon-team. If we could get our own room doesn't seem to be sure but chances are high that we will. I need some final decisions to get those things organised. At first I need a list of those who want to help us and attend to this event. (you do not have to be a dev ;-)) In addition to this we have to talk about wether we want to have our own booth/table or not. (The froscon team seems to prefer a "yes" here and I think it could be fun.) Of course we need to be enough people. To spped things up, I'll set a deadline: So please answer till Friday. (better respond till tomorrow) Pierre PS: Daniel mentioned that not everybody who might be interested in this has subscribed to arch-events; so I cc'ed to arch-dev-public. -> Please subscribe to arch-events if you haevn't done yet. -- http://www.archlinux.de

It seems there is no much interest in this. There should be at least 5 of us; otherwise the whole thing should be cancelled. And btw: it would be nice if someone could help me with organising this; I don't want /cannot do this on my own. So please respond if we don't want to drop this. E.g. I have to know who many tables we need etc. (NOW) -- http://www.archlinux.de

Oops, this somehow got forgotten on my side. :-( Unfortunately I cannot say 100% for sure if I will be able to be there, though I 100% want. Traveling from my country to EU is not an easy task (visas, ambassy's bureucracy etc.). :-( -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)

Unexpectedly, the problem came from the place I couldn't even imagine: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fvlasti.net%2Fnews%2F15287&hl=ru&ie=UTF8&sl=ru&tl=en no comments except #^%$@#@#$#$!!! Right before I was going to make a passport. :-( The parliament can change the budget this month, but I doubt they will do it before their vacations. :-( Unless they make some kind of a deal or solve this issue somehow I don't know any other way to get a passport before the event. So looks like I won't be able to drink beer with you guys. -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)

So silly... Would there be a better chance when one of us german give you an invitation (on some visa things such a thing could help) or a letter that you be a referent, lector who must give a lecture on this event?

That would help in getting a visa, I think. But I won't be able to pass the border without a passport. I'll be monitoring the issue and hoping it will be resolved before the event. Will visit my city's passport bureau during next days. (Here people are able to get an international passport _only_ in the city where they are signed to live (this is written in a domestic passport) or in a special centre in the capital, and I don't live in that city anymore, but cannot change that record without getting a _permanent_ appartaments here (yet another USSR-time silliness not canceled yet)). -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)

I am sorry, I totally missed you message. At first: We could meet at Froscon. Maybe we'll have a jabber meeting this weekend to organize some details.
