[arch-general] Need help understanding meta-PKGBUILDs

Guys, We have made good progress refining the basics for Trinity PKGBUILDs. The trinity/dependencies PKGBUILDs are working for tqtinterface and arts. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Trinity#Development_PKGBUILDs They have been reworked to conform with the kde4 (kde-meta) PKGBUILD structure. But, I'm having trouble understanding how to 'tie' the meta-PKGBUILDs together with the actual PKGBUILDs for the individual trinity modules. Here are the questions I have: (1) can I have 3-levels of PKGBUILDs? Example: the trinity directory structure is: trinity applications dependencies arts tqtinterface <snip> Following the kde4 layout, I was trying to create something like this: trinity <PKGBUILD pkgbase=trinity-meta> applications dependencies <PKGBUILD pkgbase=trinity-meta> arts <PKGBUILD pkgbase=trinity> tqtinterface <snip> I have the arts and tqtinterface level PKGBUILDs done, but I don't know how to tie them to the trinity-meta PKGBUILDs above. (2) I googled using arch meta pkgbuild, but I haven't come up with a good reference. Guys, The PKGBUILD for tqtinterface I'm working on seems to omit placing the file 'uic-tqt' in the $pkgdir when calling 'make DESTDIR="$pkgdir/" install'. What is strange is it seems all other parts of the package get put in $pkgdir. How do I go about debugging why this file is omitted? As a workaround, I can just do a manual copy in the PKGBUILD, but that seems like a hack. Upstream update. Packaging changes: Oldschool configure/Makefile are no more supported upstream and thus deprecated. Upstream ships new tarballs called "amalgamation", that are kind of optimized for common C preprocessors: http://sqlite.org/amalgamation.html - we had a request for this FS#21508. The tcl extension is now split out and a separate pkg. The sqlite3-tcl pkg files are now located in a different directory. There's nothing linked to it in our repos. If you think this way the lib is not found and needs to be fixed please tell me. I can try to hack the Makefile to use the old location. This is a bugfix release to the previous 2011.01-1. Also fix the versioning scheme, it is now: YYYY.MM.R where R is a release number - we should not abuse the pkgrel for versioning, that is what pkgrel is for. Shortlog: Thomas Bächler (7): Remove all copyright and license hints. Allow setting the locale during boot and daemon startup. Fix run_hook and add_hook definitions. Suppress the output of cryptsetup isLuks. Fix crypttab option column processing. Only call activate_vgs a second time if any logical volumes have actually been activated. Check whether crypttab contains anything before processing it. Please sign off.
