[arch-general] Lock at shutdown with some kernels

Hello, I've been using Arch 64 for a year or so, and I remember several times (roughly 5) I have shutdown issues with the latest kernel (at the time). The system is locked at shutdown, I can do nothing but to press the power button to force a power off. I am very sure it is locked --- NumLock doesn't even respond. And it doesn't return to tty as it would otherwise. It came to me again. This time I decided to have linux-lts installed. I'm curious, why is the problem always about shutdown? Is this bug from upstream or Arch patches? I don't have other distros installed by now though. Btw, how does linux-lts differ from linux? I found the -lts one boots very slow for me, got stuck at "Waiting for UDev uevents to be processed" for quite some time, around 30 sec. With linux it's similar, but not so long. I have this issue when I use vga_switcheroo, to switch between Intel graphics and ATI card. [arch-general] Can you test machine to set --jobs[=N] from w/i PKGBUILD?

Guys, Is there any way to check the number of cores on a machine to set the number of jobs within a PKGBUILD?: make -j'X' I have some dual-core and some quad-core boxes and the difference between -j2 and -j4 on build time is tremendous. However, for generically creating a source package to be used by someone else, I can't hardcode the jobs number. Anyway to test in pkgbuild or is this just a per box makepkg.conf issue? -- David C. [arch-general] Note on Trinity R14 (3.5.14)

Guys, There will be an upcoming release of TDE 3.5.14 in the next few months and I have worked to update the build system for Arch. All packages below are building on current libraries. The only AUR base package utilized is HAL. I will update the wiki with current information after the remaining PKGBUILD development is complete. Many bugs have been fixed and enhancements added. The desktop is significantly faster than 3.5.10, 3.5.12 or 3.5.13 without any additional bloat. See trinitydesktop.org for the latest info. Hi guys, The recent updates of kmod, systemd and udev in testing moves /lib/{systemd,udev,modprobe.d,depmod.d} to /usr/. The old location will, for the time being, continue to work for config files (as well as udev rules and systemd unit files). However, helper programs installed to /lib/{systemd,udev} will have to be moved to /usr/lib. This has been done for all the official packages, but third-party packages will have to be updated.
