[Inspired by tomd123@bbs.archlinux.org](https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=134622), I have wrote a small script to deploy the dotfiles acrossing viarous hosts, may be you guys are interested to have a look. I addopted tha archlinux-artwork because I have a idea on how reviving a little this thin'. I want pull it to a Github server and receive artworks for the project, so that can by a little more populated, users can contribute whit fixes in gamas and others add new art I want know if already exist a place for that or I need create ir by myself and not thing, all art remain archlinux and all, I add a clear statenment on the ReadMe So I first want do ir right and ask permisison or know if already exist a place.. -- *Pablo Lezaeta *

[arch-general] Kernel freeze on boot with kernel 3.10.x

Hello everyone, since kernel version >3.9.x (e.g. 3.10.3, 3.10.10) my system freezes during the boot. I was hoping for a fix to appear in later versions of 3.10. but as this was not the case, I am in dire need of help to debug this problem as currently I am not even getting any logs from the crash. Problem: After grub is loaded the system loads the initial ram disk and I am prompted to enter the password for my root partition. After that the system starts normally (systemd messages) and freezes at some point. The last message printed differs a little bit between boots, but it is roughly about "Mounted Config File System". The freeze is apparently a complete crash: I started a systemd rescue console on tty9 (which startup is printed out) but I cannot switch in that console after the freeze (no response on key events). Apparently the logs are not yet written to the harddisk as I can not find any entries on that boot if I startup another kernel. I would be grateful for any pointers on this issue and/or some suggestions how I can at least get a useful log from the crash to open a bug report. I am using the standard arch linux packages (at least where the bootup is involved). My system is using a raid1 with encrypted root partition. And yes, it works flawlessly if I downgrade the linux package to <3.10.x. My hardware configuration (hwinfo output) can be found under: www.ncbecker.de/pc/hwinfo I ran hwinfo with the lts-kernel. [arch-general] LVM + mdadm no longer works on boot

Hi, all. I'm running a small fileserver that has three SATA drives set up in RAID5 via mdadm. That RAID holds one LVM pv which is split up into several logical volumes. This setup has worked fine in the past, but with the lastest system update my LVM partitions are not getting discovered correctly, leading to the boot hanging until I manually run "vgchange -ay". After that, the boot proceeds as normal. It would appear that the latest lvm2 package is what causes the issue. Downgrading to 2.02.100-1 boots fine, whereas 2.02.103-1 hangs. So how exactly should I proceed from here? I'm trying to understand how systemd makes it all work together, but I'm rather confused by it all. Thanks, --Sean Greenslade

[arch-general] Audio distro

Hi, sometimes I'm thinking about an audio distro based on Arch. I'm uncertain, if I'm really willing to spend my time to contribute to such a distro and I've got no doubts, that I don't have the skills to do it alone. I wonder, if other Arch users have this _secret_ thoughts sometimes too. IOW I neither plan to make such a distro, nor I'm sure if I've got the time to contribute or even if such a distro would make sense. Does other Arch users think about such a distro sometimes too?
