Hi, about a week ago (precise time<http://download.enlightenment.fr/releases/?C=M;O=D> ), enlightenment foundation released newer stable version of enlightenment17 and related libraries (download page<http://enlightenment.org/p.php?p=download> ), but those in [extra] repo are still older ones, and ronald seems inactive these days, can any developer update those packges to keep up with official releases? thanks in advance! How can I get gpg-agent to work with ssh keys? All, With the inclusion of the debug option in pacman 4.1.0, I think it makes sense to do something with this in the official repositories. I've sifted through some bug reports asking for inclusion of the debug symbols in a separate package or repository officially for testing purposes. With [extra] and [community] approaching 1.5 and 2 megabytes respectively, I think that adding debug symbols directly into these repositories would be a bad idea as it would probably add ~50% to those databases, and I've already seen some people complain about the sizes. What I would propose (and I've implemented this locally fine) is to have a separate series of repositories named [$repo-debug] that only contain the -debug packages, allowing those that don't bother with testing or debugging to simply not include them in their pacman.conf, but if there is something that they want to run valgrind or whatever on, they can simply enable the right [*-debug] repo for that package, and once they are done debugging simply remove that repo from their list along with the package. For really large packages, this will save people a while lot of time recompiling dependencies for these symbols. I talked to ioni on the channel, and he said that your repo scripts do not have support for this. If it's too much of a hassle, putting them in the same repo wouldn't be that terrible, honestly. [arch-general] PKGBUILD weirdness

I’ve been working on my own fork of luakit, building and installing it to test changes, and I’ve come across some weirdness in the PKGBUILD. The original luakit-git PKGBUILD[1] has a set of options to pass to make to (for example) enable luajit. I rewrote it to conform with pacman/makepkg 4.1 vcs standards[2], and for some reason, if I use an auxiliary variable to store these options, the packaging fails. [arch-general] mdadm: RAID-5 performance sucks

Hi, I've got four HDDs and added them into a RAID-5 array, which basically works just fine. However the performance sucks quite hard. I get only about 70 MB/s when it comes down to reading and writing speeds of about 35 MB/s. The hardware itself is quite decent: Intel Xeon E31260L, 8 GB RAM and four Samsung HD204UI's. With the same setup and a Ubuntu live environment I get about 270 MB/s reading speed and 130 MB/s writing speed. Therefore there must be a fundamental difference. I've compared various values from sysctl between both environments and set them accordingly, but to no availability. Anyone else experiencing the same issues and/or can you point me in the right direction? At least I would like to saturate my Gigabit Ethernet connection. Best regards, Karol Babioch

[arch-general] [makepkg] Permission denied on pkg/ directory

I’ve been porting my old PKGBUILDs to the 4.1 format for VCS packages, and for some reason I keep getting errors building the package, with the pkg/ directory being created with 000 (d---------) permissions. My umask isn’t malformed as I can create directories and files just fine, and if I chmod the directory and re-run makepkg, it seems to lock the directory. Is this a bug, or a new feature of 4.1? Or have I misconfigured something somewhere? I did a diff of the configuration files when 4.1 was released so they should be up-to-date.
