[arch-general] nouveau and nividia bios extract

Hi folks . One of those i cant sort on my own i am afraid I have downloaded the nouveau-fw package run makepkg it down loads the needed files all ok but the fails completely and silently if i try to run the NVIDIA package with the --extract-only switch i get complained at that the package is intended for the x86 platform and i am using the x86_64 platform . According to the package page on the Arch site it should work help please totally stumped right now . I figured out my problem. The client connecting to libvirtd requires cyrus-sasl-gssapi to be installed or it will fail with the "No worthy mechs found" error. Hi all, I'm trying to use SASL to authenticate against my KDC. I'd like to have libvirt users use their kerberos credentials to login, but right now it's not working. Kerberos authentication in general works. Hi, I'm trying to replace nouveau driver with nvidia-304xx-lts for my NVIDIA Corporation G73 [GeForce 7600 GT] videocard. I'm following advices at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nvidia. For info - I have tried to get it working in refind and failed. I added a second initrd line in the boot stanza in refind.conf. But the firmware was not updated. Hi, if I type "pacman Syu" I get messages like "java-runtime-common: /usr/bin/java exists ..." and "java-environment-common: /usr/bin/appletviewer exists ..." and because of that error nothing is upgraded. [arch-general] Problems with new version of gsfonts

Hi, I've noticed that the current gsfonts package is "built" from different sources (and I'm also aware of https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/42391). However, I've got two issues with it. First of all, the fonts have now different names. For example, "Nimbus Sans L" is now just "Nimbus Sans". That means that all applications that were set to use the font now need to be re-configured. That's of course something I'll have to do but maybe a warning (ideally on the front page/RSS or at least in a post install message) would be good. The second problem is worse. It seems that this version of the fonts doesn't contain all characters it used to. For example Czech diacritical characters seem to be missing (again, at least within Nimbus Sans). Does anyone know what the reason is? It's obviously not a packaging problem, the sources must lack them. For me it is a regression which makes the fonts unusable. :-( So my question basically is whether this is fixable or whether I should look for a different default font (I've been using Nimbus Sans L as a default font for everything for many, many years). Has anyone else found that sloppy focus and focus-follows-mouse are behaving strangely since the upgrade to Gnome3.14? This is the behaviour I observe: 1. Have two gnome-terminals on desktop A, each one covering one half of the screen 2. Have one maximised gnome-terminal on desktop B 3. On desktop A, move mouse (and focus) to first window. 4. Confirm that Ctrl-Tab switches focus to second window. 5. Move to desktop B 6. Move back to desktop A 7. Confirm that first window has focus, because that's where the mouse pointer is At this point Ctrl-Tab can't be used to switch to the second window! Forcing the focus, either by clicking in the first windows, or by moving the mouse to the second window, will result in Ctrl-Tab working as expected again. Is anyone else seeing this behaviour?
