Hi all, Has anybody got plasma 5.5 under wayland working? I have weston working which I can launch from sddm. So hardware is not a problem I suppose. I have created a test user with no existing configuration at all. When I run startplasmacompositor, it displays the splash screen and then goes blank. Any suggestions? What package I am missing? [arch-general] First try to go to KDE 5.5

Hello, today, I tried to update my laptop to KDE 5.5. The first problem, I've found, is, that it seems to be impossible to configure SDDM. The option is there in "System Settings", but nothing opens. Then, I connected my TV screen to the HDMI port of my laptop and tried dual-screen setup. At first this seemed to work well, but for some reason *every* window now opens on my TV. The laptop screen was set to be default, so this is not the reason. I configured the laptop screen to be turned off when the lid is closed. If I do this, then the laptop screen keeps black if the lid is opened again. If I lock the screen in this case and unlock after that, then the screen turns on, but the taskbar seems to be crashed. This is just a short list of bugs, I found, before uninstalling Plasma 5. Does someone here have similar problems? As KDE 4 also had many bugs, I learned to deal with, as they never got fixed, and KDE 5 doesn't seem to be much better, I now give Gnome a try... Manuel

Aw you're dropping support for Plasma 4. I hate to see it go. Some system icons don't show up in plasma 5.

Hello, Irqbalance has been flagged since 2015-05-05 and remains at version 1.0.8 for quite along time when irqbalance 1.0.9 was released on Mar 16, 2015. A newer version of irqbalance has recently come out Dec 4, 2015. which is irqbalance 1.1.0,hence unable to flag out of date. https://github.com/Irqbalance/irqbalance/releases

Please don't! Qt5 is still crashes if you connect or disconnect external monitor and that's very annoying. I just switched from 5 to 4 this Thursday after using Plasma 5 for 5 months. Hopefully, that would be fixed in Qt 5.6. Please don't remove KDE 4 packages until then! Hello, I cannot connect to wifi networks using netctl or netctl-auto. Some journalctl -xe output is attached for the two types of errors I encountered. The only action I could remember that could have had anything to do with this was an upgrade of wpa_supplicant, so I googled and found [0]. However, unlike the commenters on that bug, it still didn't work after downgrading wpa_supplicant. Did anyone else experience anything similar? I'm using intel network hardware. You can easily search the bug tracker[1] yourself, and help out with bugs in packages you are familiar with. Maintaining packages is usually not very time-intensive for the maintainers. So I think that there is little to offer there. Besides that, you can have a look at this page[2] for more things to do. Basically, you don't have to be a TU to help out on most tasks.
