[arch-general] Espeak in official repositories needs an overhaul

Howdy, As far as I know, the original espeak project has been abandoned. I have heard the original developer passed away, but I can not confirm that one way or the other. The latest developments have been added under a fork of the project called Espeak-ng: https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng This new fork has a lot of improvements and pronounciation fixes. i wonder if it shouldn't be the one in the official repos now. [arch-general] AUR and missing/unidentifiable GPG keys

Hey hey, it has happened a couple of times now, that AUR packages' GPG keys can't be verified using aurget. Here's one example from installing the Linux realtime kernel: aurget -Sy linux-rt-bfq [copious output] patch-4.14.3-rt5.patch ... FAILED (unknown public key 4FE5E3262872E4CC) ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified! aurget is up to date, as pulled from the Github repo. I know this can be circumvented by editing the pkgbuild file and removing the verification option, but that feels wrong. Is there a systematic way to update the relevant keys? As for other packages that did - or still do - suffer from this issue, there's certainly wine. [arch-general] TPlink Touch P5 network printer

Hi, I know it's unlikely (TP link representitive said it's impossible) but is there any way I can add a printer that is connected to my Tp Link Touch P5 router? Hey all, just a short heads up: current nextcloud (forseeable until version 13) does not work with php 7.2 (out of the box) [1]. [arch-general] Why was php conflict 'php-mcrypt<=7.1' added? Breaks php56-mcrypt?

All, Why was the conflict 'php-mcrypt<=7.1' added to php? It now seeks to remove php56-mcrypt. I require both for older web apps not yet ported to php7. These packages do not conflict as I have used both for a couple of years. Now I get: :: Starting full system upgrade... resolving dependencies... looking for conflicting packages... :: php and php56-mcrypt are in conflict (php-mcrypt). Remove php56-mcrypt? [y/N] error: unresolvable package conflicts detected error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies) :: php and php56-mcrypt are in conflict (php-mcrypt<=7.1) Does this need to be fixed in AUR or is there a better way to handle this?? -- David C. The current infra for official packages is blocking new contributions (I remember the cumbersome process it was for me to push 2 fixes to openjfx, patches via email is from an old age). Also, having an infra like gogs/Gitlab could allow us to have our Github ArchLinux account becoming the official read-only mirror for Arch Linux (yet another free backup). I usually migrate everything and do not leave a publicly accessible web app, especially if the latter isn't maintained any more, and has multiple security vulnerabilities. In this regard, it would be nice to have a policy to auto-close bugs that haven't received comments/reactions within x day. Any way, if a contributor has anything to add, he could reopen it if needed. Having a more strict bug triaging policy is usually good and reminds me a recent article I read on the Gitlab.com blog[4].
