Hi! Mill in Arch is nearly three years old: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/mill/ https://github.com/com-lihaoyi/mill/releases/tag/0.11.0 I have a MR for updating it: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/mill/-/merge_requ… But since it is orphaned it can't be updated. It also can't be moved to AUR. Is there really no way forward? Thanks -- Andreas

Either way, it would be great if someone can suggest a fix for this build error? test machine is updated using testing repos. i.e. binutils 2.46-1 gcc 15.2.1+r604+g0b99615a8aef-1 glibc 2.43+r5+g856c426a7534-1 python 3.14.2-2 Building libcamera gets macro conflicts between the definitions from glibc vs python. This could be happening because libcamera compiles with -std=c++17. What I see is that: /usr/include/features.h (glibc) vs /usr/include/python3.14/pyconfig.h (python) and features.h defines _POSIX_C_SOURCE values of - 200809L varies depending on _XOPEN_SOURCE - 202405L if _GNU_SOURCE is set On other hand, pyconfig.h fixes the value to 2008: /* Define to activate features from IEEE Stds 1003.1-2008 */ #define _POSIX_C_SOURCE 200809L which "suggests" that this is the value libcamera should also use maybe? Building libcamera started having these errors (similar ones for _XOPEN_SOURCE as well): /usr/include/python3.14/pyconfig.h:2007:9: error: ‘_POSIX_C_SOURCE’ redefined [-Werror] 2007 | #define _POSIX_C_SOURCE 200809L /usr/include/features.h:319:10: note: this is the location of the previous definition 319 | # define _POSIX_C_SOURCE 202405L Happens with both the current version (0.7.0) as well as git head of libcamera. thank you for any guidance gene

Hi, I know that pacman-static is not an official repository, but it's about the signature of a staff member, https://archlinux.org/people/support-staff/ . Is it an accident or on purpose? I temporarily commented out pacman-static in pacman.conf and uninstalled the pacman-static package. make pacman-pkg: where to ask for help about cross-compiling

Hello, The actual problem may concern - this forum - the archlinuxarm forum - the kernel help channels. It is about building kernel packages with 'make pacman-pkg' using a cross- compiler on an x86_64 host. All packages are generated for aarch64. For arm, only the 'linux-upstream' package is created successfully. The next package generation fails, linux-upstream-headers. Using these environment variables: export ARCH=arm export CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-eabi- If help can be expected here, I'll further post the stderr messages, so as to shorten this post. Thank you for any input.

After reverting to the older versions of all these packages, a usable Wayland desktop is obtained. It's hard to tell which one(s) is(are) responsible. Maintainers will have a better idea. "setxkbmap -option kpdl:comma" doesn't work

Hi, for my German keyboard, I was able to change the num pad's "," to a "." by running $ setxkbmap -option kpdl:dot but I cannot change the "." back to "," by running $ setxkbmap -option kpdl:comma The man page: $ man xkeyboard-config [...] Numeric keypad Delete behavior ┌─────────────────────────────────────────────[...] │ Option Description │ ├─────────────────────────────────────────────[...] │ kpdl:dot Legacy key with dot │ │ kpdl:comma Legacy key with comma [...] What am I missing? Arch Linux Wiki responds 429 based on macOS User-Agent

Hi, While browsing the Arch Linux Wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org) from macOS, I noticed that the server consistently responds with HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests). After some testing, it appears this behavior is triggered by the User-Agent, and is not related to IP address, request rate, or cookies. The following User-Agent from my browser can reproduce the behavior reliably: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/134.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 More specifically, the substring "Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7" is sufficient to trigger the block. $curl -vLo /dev/null https://wiki.archlinux.org/ -H "user-agent: Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7" * IPv6: 2604:cac0:a104:d::4 * IPv4: 209.126.35.81 < HTTP/2429 < server: nginx < date: Wed, 28Jan 202606:28:43GMT < content-type: text/html < content-length: 162 < strict-transport-security: max-age=31536000; includeSubdomains; preload Does anyone have any idea about this? ex-vi-compat: neovim

Greetings! Recently the package `ex-vi-compat` was introduced, which conflicts with, and replaces `vi`. This PKGBUILD installs `vim` onto the system, and symlinks a bunch of commands to `vim`. However, I use `neovim`, and it seems a bit superfluous to me to install `vim`, when `neovim` can do all that `vim` can do in this regard. Is there any way to perhaps check if either `vim` or `neovim` is already installed on the system, and then use either one of them in the symlink?
