listmates,
Attempted update yields libtiff dependency problem:
[21:52 alchemy:/home/david] # pacman -Sy -u :: Synchronizing package databases... kde-unstable is up to date kdemod-legacy is up to date core is up to date extra is up to date community is up to date archlinuxfr is up to date :: Starting full system upgrade... :: Replace phonon with kde-unstable/qt? [Y/n] Y resolving dependencies... error: cannot resolve "libtiff>=3.8.2-5", a dependency of "qt" error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies) :: qt: requires libtiff>=3.8.2-5
The problem is that libtiff-3.8.2-5 is still in testing, but qt that has been moved to the normal repositories is claiming it as a dependency
Three Broken Dependencies in all: 22:17 alchemy:~> ls -1 archlinux/install/*gz archlinux/install/libjpeg-7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz archlinux/install/libmng-1.0.10-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz archlinux/install/libtiff-3.8.2-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz Installing libjpeg, libmng and libtiff from testing with pacman -U then allows a system update to proceed normally. -- David C.
