How do I do that? When I choose fallback mode as Arch is booting up, I still enter gnome-shell. And sometimes it frozen upon startup when I enter this mode.
The official way is opening "gnome-control-center", and "Details" (in System section), select "Graphics" and then set "Forced Fallback Mode" to "ON". That should do it. But if it fails, as a workaround, you can simply remove the executable bit from (or rename) the file "/usr/bin/gnome-shell". -- Rodrigo
