You wont have any problems if you are using a proper login manager or have "exec ck-launc-session dbus-launch startxfce" in ya .xinitrc ^^
You only need 'exec ck-launch-session startxfce4' in .xinitrc because startxfce4 will call dbus-launch itself. And yes, I'm using xfce and everything works just fine, I don't use any login manager though, don't see the need for it :p -- Mauro Santos
