Woah, why would you ever advise anyone to delete the entire ~/.config and ~/.cache directories? They want to reset their KDE config, not *everything*. Even if the $XDG_CONFIG_HOME isn't explicitly set, there are still a lot of applications that deliberately look in those paths for configuration regardless.
