What would be the point? Wouldn't it add another level of indirection? I don't want to change the config file by hand, as that may not be safe...

Its not editing it by hand, just run make [xg ]config before makepkg. Leonardo Dagnino
Well, OK, but I think it is better to compile the kernel "off-pacman". Others already mentioned that abs may not be updated as soon as the core repo. Tanks Jorge Almeida
