Response to the proposal of deprecating UDP transport https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-nfs/msg74889.html was positive, as much as there was.
As a workaround you could set up a local repo and ship your own kernel, that you rebuild (semi-?)automatically from the ABS. That way you don't depend on somebody else to fix this, but it of course puts the maintenance burden on you.
