Since I've yet to try the "new" method of installing, I suppose i could, however i was under the impression pacman -Ss required an arguement for what you are searching for.
I usually remove acouple things from base such as Nano and wpa_supplicant ( desktop is hardwired) which with aif was quite simple since it showed you everything.
