Thanks everyone for the responses. I can't be sure that it's the repository since I've been putting off upgrading my Amarok lately, so that's constantly in the list... and even that's gone now. I had this happen to me with the kernel upgrade, and its just the case of the repository mirror not being instantly updated. Thats how I learned to stop worrying and trust the pacman (and yaourt to some degree).
