Having one big configuration file means it's much easier to make mistakes in it and have strong problems because of that. Dedicated files to services/requirements make such problems more isolated.
Yes, I concur. Although I'm not so much a fan of systemd, I can say with confidence that this assertion matches my experience. Dividing the configurations makes each package far more likely to update itself cleanly withit botching-up some other, unrelated part of your system.
