No it is not the same! Not splitting software provided by a single upstream source into several packages, is not the same as merging different upstream sources into one package. Take a look at the source array of bind. It's one source address, it does not merge software from different sources to a single package, it's just not splitting software provided by one source into several packages. Btw. you could use /etc/pacman.conf's NoExtract array to not install unwanted files.
