I've got spyder-4.0.1-2 and python-spyder-kernels-1.8.1-1 installed. They're not self-compiled, they just came in as regular repo updates (on 22nd February 2020).
However the current repo version of both is 3.3.6-2 and 0.5.2-4. Looks like a rollback of spyder related packages took place? Shouldn't epoch be updated in that case?
I have [testing] enabled but I don't know how to check if the current installed version is from community-testing.
pacman -Ss spyder Looks like the new version was added to community-testing, then withdrawn. Any future updates to it *should* increment the pkgrel once again, so no downgrades ever happen. As for why they were withdrawn to begin with, this has some context: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/65683 -- Eli Schwartz Bug Wrangler and Trusted User
