It took me about 45 minutes to learn enough blender to create a quick draft of a 3D logo:

Now it just needs some proper materials and lighting and cleaning up the arrow.
The blend file and the screenshot are licensed under CC0 (ie. public domain), so anyone can finish it up. Don't forget that the logo is still copyrighted.
