[arch-general] *-git packages last update

Hi all, For several resaons, I use a few *-git packages from AUR. I noticed one thing: the last update date is often far behind (i.e. 2012,...) I just would like to ensure it's just the package last update date, and it has no realtion with the git tree freshness: git always checks out "master". I'm right?
