As Thomas explains, this won't reach the official repositories anytime soon. However, I'm using 5.X locally, and have been intending to upload it somewhere for people to try out (note that it won't be very useful yet as not many clients have been ported.
It seems to be the hobby of the BlueZ people to make their API incompatible with every major update.
If I understand and remember correctly, this will improve in the future as version N will be backwards compatible with version N-1, for N > 5. -t
