Only for the stats: In the case of updating packages Yast, and im suprised that you use this more than zypper, don't touch changed config files because opensuse, and every other rpm basesd distribution, do the same as archlinux with *.rpmsave and *.rpmnew files.
I'm not using openSUSE anymore. I used SuSE several years ago when there was only YaST and YaST2. So I don't know zypper. I admit that this comment was a little bit unfair on openSUSE. But I've written SuSE and it was my experience with it. ;-) Heiko
