Hello, Perhaps you could manually download the package tarballs (from the Arch official repositories web interface) and extract the pertinent files from them where they belong. As a last resort, you could boot an Arch Live environment and use pacstrap after mounting the relevant partitions: # pacstrap /mnt pacman e2fsprogs BTW, i686 is a 32-bit architecture. Even if your processor supports the x86_64 architecture, what matters is what your OS was built for; if you're using i686 packages, your system is running in 32-bit mode.
