Is this an i686 box? Arch has no support for i586 packages. If this is i686 you might want to run the apps from the command line and check dmesg.
Yes it is i686. I updated 2 i686 boxes and 1 x86_64 box last night and the i686 boxes were consistent with the segfaults, but reinstall worked OK -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
