They should in Plasma 5.5: Restored Legacy Icons in System Tray Support In response to feedback, we've rewritten support for legacy applications not using the StatusNotifier <http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/StatusNotifierItem/> standard for system tray icons.
