That is not expected. You should still be able to log in. Are you using [testing]? If so, you might be hit by a bug I introduced when updating libtirpc yesterday. It can be fixed by logging into single-user mode and up- or downgrading the package.
If I should replace GDM and for sure Network Manager too and reconfigure ntcfg. Will there still be other serious issues if I stay with initscripts?
Anything that relies on ConsoleKit will be problematic.
Is there a Wiki describing how to switch to systemd easy?
