Hello, I just ran a "pacman -Syu" and am having issues with the internet connection. I have around 10 seconds with a working connection to the internet followed by 10 seconds without being able to establish a connection. For 10 seconds I am able to curl google.com or telnet its port 443, and then I get blocked for 10 seconds. There was an update to "networkmanager": [2024-10-13T15:39:41+0200] [ALPM] upgraded networkmanager (1.48.10-1 -> 1.50.0-1) Could this be the cause? Does anyone else experience similar problems? I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Regards Björn

It would be helpful to check your logs (journalctl/dmesg) and look for something 'interesting'. Absent that its difficult to diagnose. That said, I have zero problems. -- Gene
Even though I have rebooted several times a restart of NetworkManager solved the problem. Very weird since a reboot should technically do the same thing. On Sun, 2024-10-13 at 13:07 -0400, Genes Lists wrote:

Computers have state memory which is cleared by poweroff and leaving computer off for a minute. Apparently network settings get preserved in state memory. -- Jude <jdashiel at panix dot com> "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo. When you restart a service it is stared after everything else. On boot order of execution can be different. Regards, Łukasz

I have Arch on two desktops PCs. There was a delay of a few seconds opening a web page in one of them. Not sure it this is related to the OP message. Inspired by the previous message I disabled and enabled the network manager by unticking and ticking the "Enable Networking" menu iterm in the Network Manager tray applet. The delay appears to have gone away. I could be mistaken, as the delay is small, so it could be just random effects and not a problem. Anyway, if I see it happen again I might start Wireshark to see if there is anything obvious that could explain it. My desktops are up to date.
