Noticed this when my music started skipping and glanced at my conky to see 3.82gb memory usage (out of 4). I had to kill the process with `killall -9 pidgin`. I've also noticed pidgin locking up more often with 100% cpu usage on one core lately. ps before I killed it: kano 26176 0.5 86.1 5454392 3490168 ? Rl May27 8:42 pidgin Is anyone else having problems with pidgin? My gf's laptop with ubuntu doesn't seem to have any problems, so I wonder if it maybe an arch issue.

Is anyone else having problems with pidgin? Me not. It's running smooth with no noticeable errors. But I'm using it muted. Perhaps that's an issue? And my computer runs with 4GB RAM, too.

I don't have any issue. Perhaps it's a poorly-written plugin? Which ones do you use?
Pidgin is crashing with msn protocol here. But since I don't have the time to investigate a little bit further, I just changed to other client for a while... Other than that, it's running fine. But without sounds also. $ ps -aux | grep pidgin nirev 22984 0.2 1.5 61288 31740 ? S 18:23 0:27 pidgin -- Malformed message exception

I only have the Idle Maker plugin loaded.
if pidgin is a problem, you can give a try to emesene. But I don't know if it have sound. And don't use msn dailly
Also try msn-pecan to see if maybe that one works better. -J On Sat, May 30, 2009 at 1:55 AM, ludovic coues <couesl@gmail.com> wrote:

Perhaps you'll find more interest on the pidgin mailing lists. On Fri, May 29, 2009 at 6:22 PM, Jon Kristian Nilsen <jokr.nilsen@gmail.com> wrote:
